The U.S. dollar is the currency most used in international transactions. Several countries use the U.S. dollar as their official currency, and many others allow it to be used in a de facto capacity. It's known locally as a buck or greenback.
The Jordanian dinar also circulates in West Bank together with the Israeli new sheqel. Since 1995, the dinar has been officially pegged to the IMF's Special Drawing Rights (SDRs). In practice, it is fixed at 1 U.S. dollar = 0.709 dinar most of the time.
